Barcelona is on the verge of making things happen despite the fact that their top player, Lionel Messi, has left for Paris Saint-Germain. Barcelona hasn't suffered a defeat against any other team thus far. However, it is tied with Real Madrid on points with four points, and both are vying for the league trophy this season after losing it to Atletico Madrid last season. Getafe will be hoping to win at home against Athletic Club after narrowly escaping loss against them last week.
Barcelona hosted Real Sociedad on the first day of the season, and the Catalans came out on top, winning 4-2. Martin Braithwaite's brace, as well as goals from Gerard Pique and Sergi Roberto, helped the team to victory. In addition to drawing 1-1 with Athletic Bilbao last weekend, the club's defensive midfielder Eric Garcia was sent off in the process. The upcoming encounter will be a game of making things happen, and Getafe should be prepared to be beaten at Camp Nou if they do not prepare well.
Getafe is in bad shape, as the team has failed to collect a single point in the league since the season began. The first encounter against Valencia was marred by controversy, aside from Valencia being reduced to a 10-man team in the opening minutes of the second half of the contest. Barcelona has won eight of the last ten head-to-head meetings with Getafe while drawing one and losing once. The majority of Barcelona's goals have come from Luis Suarez, Lionel Messi, and Neymar, all of whom have departed the club. Getafe's fresh blood, including Ansu Fati, Memphis Depay, Braithwaite, and Griezmann, will be attempting to save the club's sagging fortunes. The previous season, Getafe refused to be defeated at home, winning 1-0 at the Santiago Bernabeu but falling 5-2 at the Camp Nou.
