Augsburg welcomes Robert Lewandowski and Bayern Munich to the WWK Arena on Wednesday.
Former England youth international Oxford has rather struggled to live up to his promise since becoming West Ham United's youngest ever debutant at the age of 16 in 2015, spending much of the last three seasons in the shadows at Augsburg. He has broken into the first team regularly in recent weeks, though, lining up on the right-hand side of Heiko Herrlich's three-man defense. Augsburg might wish to have each of the aforementioned defenders on the field and then some given the form Lewandowski is in this season. The Pole brought up his 21st goal of the campaign in Bayern's 2-1 win over Freiburg on Sunday and has Gerd Müller's 49-year, 40-goal single-season record firmly in his sights. He has scored previously against Augsburg too, with 18 goals in 17 career games against them. Bayern remain statistically unscathed from their recent wobble in form - they had lost to Borussia Mönchengladbach and Holstein Kiel before the Freiburg game - but they remain six points clear at the top of the Bundesliga table, even if the Kiel upset saw them bow out of the DFB Cup. The safe money is on a Bayern victory, although Serge Gnabry is doubtful with a hamstring injury, meaning Leroy Sane should start.
