Barnsley beat Birmingham 1-0 at home on Saturday to record a seventh successive victory and remain in 6th place in their Championship play-off hunt. It is only the second time the Tykes have won seven games in a row in the second tier and the first in 100 years. The Tykes got all their results through hard work and deserve to be in the play-off contention. The host will certainly want to keep the momentum going against Derby who lost 1-0 to Coventry away from home. After creating history in West London last week by beating QPR for the first time in 134 years, Valérien Ismaël's side continued their winning run against Birmingham as Daryl Dike smashed home the only goal of the game at Oakwell to claim a seventh straight Championship win. There was little else to report in all honesty as Barnsley were happy with their evening's work and another priceless three points in the play-off race after their fourth win in their past six meetings with Birmingham had lifted Barnsley above Bournemouth.
On the other hand, Rooney has made a positive impact since taking sole charge of the team, first as interim boss and then on a permanent basis from January. The Rams have moved clear of the relegation zone and despite the threat of relegation now not causing immediate concern, Rooney will stress to his players that they must remain focused in their bid to occupy a mid-table spot before the closing weeks of the season.
Meanwhile, Wayne Rooney’s Rams are hunting their first goal in 180 minutes after losing to the SkyBlues at the weekend and falling to consecutive defeats to nil. With 12 games remaining, Derby will be under no illusions and remain in the relegation battle as Rooney looks to avoid three straight league defeats for the first time in his managerial career by denying Barnsley a first league double since 1983/84.

Tucker grew up in London, more precisely in West London. But, unlike many locals, he doesn’t like big and famous teams from that part of the city.
