The game kicks off at 6pm (UK) on Monday 20 July, Brighton host Newcastle at the Amex Stadium.
Brighton are painfully close to safety, as they need only a single point from their last two games. They were headed in the right direction against Southampton on Thursday, when Danny Ings denied them a win in the 60th minute, to end the game in a draw (1:1). They are now in the 15th place, six points ahead of Bournemouth in the 18th. With six more points to play for, and a better goal difference, a draw with the Magpies on Monday would guarantee them a place in the top division next season.
As for their opponents, Newcastle have secured their safety a long time ago, and without anything of significance to play for, they are bidding their time until the season finishes. They won't be too stressed out after their defeat to Tottenham on Wednesday, which was of course much more impotant to the Spurs, and, of course, to Jose Mourinho, who, surprisingly, got his first win at St.James Park ever, in his 8th attempt.
BRIGHTON VS NEWCASTLE MATCH ANALYSIS
Graham Potter opted for a more defensive approach against Southampton, and it almost paid off.Since his appointment, he got Brighton to play more attractive and dynamic. The Seagulls now see much more possession in their games, they had more clean sheets, shots, and most importantly, goals. Against Southampton, Brighton had a really good first half, but their heads dropped in the second. However, they have found much needed resilience and it speaks volumes for the manager.
Glenn Murray started after a long time against the Saints, but is likely to be back on the bench against Newcastle, while Yves Bissouma and Aaron Mooy will probably be on a team sheet again on Monday.
They played in a 3-4-1-2 formation against Southampton, with their priorities being on containing the opponent. This time they may change it to 4-3-2-1, to have more fluidity in the final third.
Newcastle have injury problems in their defence and have yet to see with the FA if they can select a 20-year-old Kelland Watts for this game. However, Danny Rose, who couldn't play against his parent club Tottenham, will be back in the squad. After securing their safety, Newcastle lost three successive games, and it's hard to believe they will raise their game for this one.

Brighton lost their last three home games, but they had a difficult schedule, playing Manchester United, Liverpool and Manchester City. This is surely one game they cannot afford to lose, especially with Newcastle decimated with injuries.
