Serse Cosmi’s Crotone debut did not go to plan with a 5-1 defeat against Atalanta, but he still ‘believes’ they can stay in Serie A. Torino President Urbano Cairo promised they’ll ‘seek every possible appeal’ if they are given an automatic defeat to Lazio. ‘You can’t ignore reality.’ The game was meant to kick off on Tuesday at 18:30 at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome, but the Granata have not traveled because the local health authority (ASL) ordered them to isolate following circa 10 COVID cases between squad and staff. Had the next fixture been at the weekend, they might’ve had time to get a squad ready, but with a midweek round, it was simply impossible to break the ASL-imposed quarantine and travel to Rome.
Torino's club captain and top goalscorer Andrea Belotti are one of eight players self-isolating along with Daniele Baselli, Bremer, Alessandro Buongiorno, Karol Linetty, Nicola Murru, Nicolas Nkoulou, and Wilfried Singo. Nicola's preparations are not ideal heading into Sunday's match and fielding a competitive starting lineup is likely to be a tall order. If the match does go ahead, midfielder Rolando Mandragora could continue in midfield ahead of Linetty, while striker Simone Zaza will be relied upon to score the goals in the absence of Belotti.
