Antonio Conte's Inter arrives at Stadio Artemio Franchi on Friday just two points below the league-leading Milan, trying to grab first place in the standings, even for two nights.

Centre-back Nikola Milenkovic and midfielder Gaetano Castrovilli will both miss out for Fiorentina after seeing red against Torino, while Brazilian defender Igor remains a doubt after going off with injury last Friday. New signings Kevin Malcuit, from Napoli, and controversial Russian striker Aleksandr Kokorin are both short of match fitness, with the latter training alone since joining from Spartak Moscow.

Antonio Conte insisted Inter ‘had Juventus on the ropes’ in the Coppa Italia semi-final and paid for two ‘naïve errors,’ and took a wider look at the club’s financial problems. Conte was asked about the financial crisis that Inter are going through, as talks to sell the club to BC Partners break down. “It’s a strange situation, there’s no point denying it,” replied the coach. “We started with a project and that project froze in August.”
Inter played on Tuesday and will again meet Juve on that day in the next week so some fresh legs will get their chance. Roberto Gagliardini could come into midfield in place of Nicolo Barella, with the recently reinvented Christian Eriksen a possible replacement for Marcelo Brozovic. Suspended for the semi-final second leg, Arturo Vidal should stick in the midfield trio. Achraf Hakimi and Romelu Lukaku are expected to return instead of Matteo Darmian and Alexis Sanchez, after missing out in midweek due to suspension.
