Cesare Prandelli resigned as Fiorentina coach during the international break and Iachini returned to the Artemio Franchi as an interim coach until the end of the season. Cesare Prandelli insisted Fiorentina players never showed a lack of respect to him and claimed 'somebody didn't understand' his decision. Prandelli gave an interview after that several reports in Italy suggested a poor relationship with players led to his resignation as Fiorentina coach. Beppe Iachini admitted he ‘didn’t think he would return’ to Fiorentina after his dismissal, especially because Cesare Prandelli walked away due to personal reasons. The coach had been fired on November 9 but returned this morning after Prandelli abruptly handed in his resignation, having been increasingly stressed by the demands of the job. “I want first of all to offer my affectionate salute to Prandelli, as we have reciprocal admiration and friendship,” Iachini told the official Fiorentina website in a filmed interview. “I am sorry for his situation.
