M’gladbach played great football against Bayern in the first game of the season. Disappointing 4-0 defeat at Bayer Leverkusen in the second round was a sign that something is not good and after a 2-1 defeat against Union Berlin, they look like a team in trouble. Just one point from three matches is not what Gladbach wanted, especially with the new coach on the bench. Addi Hutter won titles in Austria and Swiss, had great results with Eintracht Frankfurt recently and it could be the toughest job for him so far to turn things around for M’gladbach. He has a great and wide roster, with players of elite-quality that won big games before like against Real in the UCL last term.
With Thuram, Lainer, and Kone out, they need something more from team captain Stindl and Plea who started quietly after a big game against Bayern. The defense will be better with the return to full fitness of Matthias Ginter. Interestingly, Gladbach scored just two goals, both from the counterattacks. They are playing against a team that is tough to break and they need patience and more creativity to achieve the first win of the season. In the last season, Gladbach scored five goals without conceding and that should be their dream result once more.

Bielefeld is a really tough team to break, they had the draws in all their games, with Freiburg, Greuther Fürth, and Eintracht Frankfurt. It is a very interesting fact, Bielefeld didn’t lose since April and that heavy defeated against Gladbach. Coach Frank Kramer turned things around for Arminia, lost just once in the 15 matches, which is the club record in the Bundesliga. The defense is playing at a high level and the best among them is goalkeeper Stefan Ortega, who is becoming one of the top shot-stoppers in the Bundesliga. They also have Japanese striker Okugawa who has looked very dangerous in every match so far. A recent neck problem for Dane Jacob Laursen is resolved, so he could be in his usual left-back role.
Bielefeld is always a relegation candidate and with Kramer, they are still finding a way how to win games after they found how to avoid defeat. It is good not to lose, but if they manage all draws in the season they will still be in a battle to avoid bottom spots. They lack quality in the attack but they manage to fight through the whole game and with the power of will and great work ethic they are a troubling lot of teams.
