According to several media outlets, some Napoli players are pushing for Gennaro Gattuso to remain in charge, but Sky Sport insists the coach and the club are set to part ways. Napoli sits second in the Serie A table after their 4-1 win over Spezia, but Atalanta, Juventus, and Milan have a game in hand. Gattuso was supposed to sign a contract extension with the Azzurri before the end of 2020, but his relationship with President Aurelio De Laurentiis has quickly collapsed, meaning the 2006 Italy World Cup winner will almost surely leave the Stadio Maradona at the end of the season. Sky Sport insists the Partenopei and Gattuso will part ways at the end of the season. Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis congratulated the coach and the players after their win against Spezia yesterday, but that’s not enough to think his relationship with Gattuso has been fixed. Gattuso replaced Carlo Ancelotti in December 2019. He has a 1.87 point average in 87 games in the Azzurri dug-out.
First-choice goalkeeper David Ospina was back on the bench last time out and is now expected to make his return to Napoli's starting XI, with Alex Meret dropping out. Central defenders Kalidou Koulibaly (thigh) and Nikola Maksimovic (COVID-19) were ruled out of action at the weekend and remain unlikely to return to the squad for Tuesday's game. Kostas Manolas and Amir Rrahmani will form the pairing at the heart of the hosts' defense. Hirving Lozano hopes that his goal on Saturday will be enough to secure a return to the side ahead of Matteo Politano and in-form Victor Osimhen should retain his place despite the claims of club-record scorer Dries Mertens.

Udinese coach Luca Gotti is frustrated with the Bologna draw but insisted Rodrigo De Paul and Juan Musso ‘can do well at any club’ in the future. He will certainly re-evaluate the situation this summer and a decision will be made to suit everyone. Udinese saw young forward Jayden Braaf added to their list of attacking absentees last week, due to a knee sprain, with the Dutch starlet joining Ignacio Pussetto, Gerard Deulofeu, and Ilija Nestorovski in missing out on the rest of the season. With few other options available - either Stefano Okaka or Fernando Llorente (who remained on the bench due to a back issue against Bologna) should start as Bianconeri's lone striker in Naples. Support will come from Argentinian pair Roberto Pereyra and nine-goal skipper Rodrigo De Paul.
