NETHERLANDS VS CZECH REPUBLIC, CAN THE CZECHS CONTINUE THEIR FAIRYTALE?
There are signs that the Netherlands are beginning to grow as a team and they will see this tie as real chance to add further traction to their progress. Being derided by fans and pundits in their homeland going into the competition after a poor start to their World Cup qualifying campaign, ’Oranje’ responded with three wins out of three and now the Czech Republic are standing in their way. Czechs are steady, if not spectacular. They will be delighted at qualifying with relative ease from their group after a win and a draw against Scotland and Croatia and a 1-0 loss to England. Jaroslav Silhavy's men have proved to be well-organised and solid, if lacking perhaps in real individual quality. We’ll see how they deal with a Dutch side increasing in confidence in Budapest.
DUTCH WORTH FOLLOWING
Netherlands had to survive a few scares when edging out Ukraine 3-2 but were then comfortable victors in their next two matches. Austria were beaten 2-0 and North Macedonia brushed aside 3-0, with all their games taking place in Amsterdam. Georginio Wijnaldum and Memphis Depay have been the star players, netting three times and twice respectively. PSV wing-back Denzel Dumfries has definitely impressed while Barcelona playmaker Frenkie de Jong is also on song.
There were doubts about which system Frank de Boer would use and which personnel he would pick. He's settled on a 3-4-1-2 and it's worked an absolute treat so far with an impressive nine out of nine points, albeit from a group widely thought as being the weakest in the tournament. It can be said that the Dutch have performed above expectations at Euro 2020, but they are favourites for this game and have a relatively kind run to the final.
TIP #1: Wolfsburg’s Wout Weghorst is doing the business up front and he has been consistent in the Bundesliga for the past three seasons. Looking at the bets, we like the odds for the 28-year-old to score at any time here here.
CZECH REPUBLIC, ONE OF THE SURPRISE PACKAGES OF EURO 2020
Czech Republic will be pleased with how their Group D campaign panned out, starting with a 2-0 success versus Scotland at Hampden Park. Holding Croatia to a 1-1 draw was another creditable effort, with Bayer Leverkusen striker Patrik Schick scoring all of the goals. Head coach Jaroslav Silhavy admitted England’s pace got the better of them in a 1-0 Wembley loss but they were already through at that point.
The Czech Locomotive have actually won their last two meetings with the Netherlands and four of the last six but they are firm underdogs on Sunday. Holland will have noted how uncomfortable the Czech defence looked when Raheem Sterling and Bukayo Saka were running at them, though. However, the Dutch are prone to the odd lapse in concentration at the back, especially with Virgil van Dijk still missing. They will look to sit back and hit the Dutch on the counter.
TIP #2: Patrik Schick from Bayer Leverkusen who has scored all three of their goals at the tournament so far and also takes the penalties. He'll have plenty of backers to score anytime.

Netherlands should prove too classy for the Czech Republic in Budapest, judged on the evidence seen so far. The Dutch have proven performers in key areas and, with a highly-promising supporting cast, they play with plenty of self-belief. They carry a huge goal threat after eight goals in their three group games. However, they are not exactly watertight at the back.
